# About Vito Schuster

> Vito Schuster is a designer and developer in Zagreb who designs and builds websites, apps and AI integrations, mostly for Croatian businesses.

I'm Vito Schuster, a designer and developer in Zagreb. I design and build websites, apps and AI integrations, so far mostly for Croatian businesses: beauty studios, a health practice, hospitality and a 24/7 vending service.

I like taking good things apart to see why they work: a website, a design system, a map, an Apple product. Under almost everything good there's a clear structure — what comes first, what belongs together, what can be automated. I start there.

## How I work

1. **Structure:** Who needs what, in what order? Sitemaps, flows and content before pixels.
2. **Design:** Figma, real content, mobile first.
3. **Build:** Fast, accessible front-ends in Astro, vanilla JS or Laravel/Blade; Shopify when it fits.
4. **Automate:** If something repeats, it becomes a component, a template or an AI workflow.

## Experience

- **Freelance designer and developer**, Self-employed, Croatia (May 2024 – Present): Websites, apps and AI integrations for businesses in beauty, health, hospitality and retail. I scope, budget and run every project directly with the owner, from first brief to launch.
- **Frontend developer, part-time**, Informel d.o.o. (Jul 2022 – May 2023): Only frontend developer in a Scrum team on myenergycommunity.eu, an R&D platform for real-time smart-meter data (a pilot with HEP): standups, sprint planning, epics and backlog in Azure DevOps. Redesigned and built the dashboard UI in Vue.js.
- **Frontend intern**, Cinnamon Agency (May 2023 – Sep 2023): Built responsive UI for elumity.com in React and Gatsby inside an agency team, with a mentor.
- **Teaching assistant**, RIT Croatia (Sep 2022 – Sep 2024): Helped students with coursework and projects in programming courses.

## Education

- **MBA, Management**, Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM) (Sep 2025 – 2027): All courses and exams completed; writing the master's thesis.
- **BSc, Web and Mobile Computing**, Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT Croatia (Sep 2021 – May 2025): Cum laude.
